Là où je me terre

Valparaíso, Chili. Décembre 1986. Caroline Dawson a sept ans et ses parents lui annoncent que la famille va quitter le pays pour toujours pour aller vivre dans un pays très loin: le Canada. Comme des millions de réfugiés, ils laissent tout derrière eux – ceux qu’ils aiment, leur carrière – afin de donner un meilleur avenir à leurs enfants.À travers son récit, elle nous parle de tous les défis qu’elle a affrontés dans cette nouvelle société: le désir de devenir une immigrante parfaite, de se fondre au groupe, le sentiment de trahison envers sa culture d’origine, son indignation par rapport au traitement réservé à ses parents, sa découverte de la littérature québécoise et l’acceptation de la multiplicité de son identité tout en se sentant profondément Québécoise.Avec son roman biographique, Caroline Dawson a touché des milliers de lecteurs. Elle a été finaliste au Combat national des livres, au Prix des libraires et elle a reçu le Prix littéraire des collégiens. Nous sommes très heureux d’en créer l’adaptation théâtrale.
